We're going to end up with an extended period of hating movies. So sad, because they're destroying the magic.
I've got it all recorded. I just have to finish A Gentleman in Moscow first. Three more episodes...
She treats people poorly and then complains when it's reciprocate in kind. No sympathy for her.
Loved it. The chemistry between the two main characters was great and their relationship went believably ftom outright loathing to grudging respect & friendship.
Yes, he is an embarrassment. You can fast forward through him and lose nothing. He was just "comic" relief, as if racism can be funny.
Just finished episode 2. Loving it so far. Andrew Scott is terrific. So beautifully filmed. The b&w cinematography really sets it apart from the film and gives it its own identity. Smart choice.
I can see your argument and it's true that I wouldn't have wanted fewer episodes of West Wing or Cheers, etc. I think the issue is the tendency of streaming services to rush to cancel series after 3 seasons. I would have loved more seasons of Santa Clarita Diet or Goliath, etc.
Agreed. The Tragedy of Macbeth was another example of black & white cinematography that was starkly beautiful and memorable. You can't fix stupid.
I can appreciate your take on this phenomenon, but as a senior I find myself drawn to the series that are 6 or 10 episodes, and sometimes only one season. I think patience gets thinner as I get older. It's, standard practice for British series to tell their story and be done with it.
They were still doing that in the 70's? We thought it was stupid in the 60's.
