As far as I’m concerned if someone is teaching in my dept, regardless of their employment permanence they deserve common courtesy and welcome. I always received that here when I was a 2 year postdoc and I think my dept continues to be pretty good that way. Sorry to hear it’s not like that elsewhere.

Celebrating 18 months today with our adorable rescue hound Layla, saved from abuse and abandonment in a forest in Feb. 2023 (in Canada!) by the Humane Society and ours since. Still a wee bit nervous (and afraid of cats) but super affectionate and happy now.
