Politcal violence isn't new. Assassinations aren't new. What is new is the level of openly calling for targeted violence; and the gloating over it when it happens. That's been almost all on the GOP side of the aisle. Remember how they treated Paul Pelosi? Doubled down after Gabi Giffords?

Some reduce the 2024 campaign to a contest between two old men, but it's a choice of two slates of federal appointees who'll impact your life in a million ways. Biden has staffed executive agencies with excellent choices who are doing good work. Trump will empower an army of Stephen Millers.

SCOTUS should have automatic background checks (for financial and personal conflicts) every five years or so, required by law, to ensure they don’t turn corrupt in their “lifetime jobs”

SCOTUS isn’t going to fix itself. The Senate has the power to hold this corrupt Court accountable — like creating enforceable ethics guidelines. The highest court in the nation shouldn’t be held to the lowest standards. Make sure your senators hear from you: act.indivisible.org/sign/stand-a...

The senators are asking Chief Justice John Roberts to "ensure" that Justice Alito recuses himself from certain cases.

I never thought that the takeaway for some people from the decades long, successful movement to overturn roe by winning elections and shaping the judiciary would lead some people to conclude that elections don’t matter
