persecuting what people say is actually very often persecuting "wrongthink" as it is commonly called. fostering communities where people are expected to agree on all vaguly political topics is dangerous.
CNC is pretty much outlawed in several countries, and that causes a lot of problems for freedom of speach and all that when it comes to sexual stuff.
here's how I heard it explained: a waitress has a bad day at work, they end up with broken dishes; a police officer has a bad day at work, someone ends up dead. therefor, I expect the police officer to face consiquences of "maybe you're not qualified for your job" when it happens.
the conflict in the middle east is not "genocide" or "ethnic cleansing." it is a bloody war, with two side who both refuse to give in. Hamas is also a terrorist group Russia used to distract from Ukraine, and it worked. only reason Isreal is villinized is because they have more firepower.

same as Facebook! I had to leave so many groups because a pisstake overtook the entire group. meanwhile, my own posts in groups only get traction when they are controvetial, which leads to the misconception of me being a troll.
it's an issue of habit. women and minorities will buy a game starring a straight white male protagonist, because they are used to not being represented by said protagonist. straight white men won't buy games that don't represent them, because they are spoiled for choice for games which do.
