As someone who just left Phoenix for VA with a family of four on less than $1000 because we had no other choice, this is very much true. We're 10 months out from the move and still in a deep hole financially because of it.
Memorable in a very different way was waking up in a dark house by a clock chiming midnight after falling asleep watching Pan's Labyrinth. It was at the ending scene, over the entrance to the labyrinth and when I woke I wiped my face only to have my hand come away bloody. My first bloody nose.
I have a number of favorite movie moments, but one that will stay with me was going to Detective Pikachu with my wife, in full nostalgia mode, and my kid, at just the right age to be obsessed with Pokémon. Seeing their twin looks of delight and amazement at Pokémon "in real life" was an all timer.
