We have good friends. Had them over for AFAS pregame and they gifted us a bottle of Czech absinthe
Not sure, but I will say: I can handle alcohol, and yet does tequila make me feel uniquely and profoundly bad. Even more so than something like absinthe.
I just followed someone with absinthe in their name & as soon as I read the word I was transported back to being 18 drinking absinthe shots in a club I would used to go to. The most vile alcohol I’ve ever drank in my life.
@kimberlyadams.bsky.social just listened to the 2024-10-04 MMS and I love the absinthe-inspired idea for Marketplace branded drink smokers 😭… even if it is a little niche 😆
Anyway, at bar and Absinthe is acquired! :D
If you live in or will be in Austin on Oct. 20th go see Evan talk about his new book on absinthe at BookPeople @ 4pm. You can also pre-order his book, it will be released on 15th Oct.
Austin folk, please put this on your calendar, and RSVP if you can. As you know, this is a *great* indie bookstore and the event should be a blast. We’ll talk about crime! Murder! Bootleggers! Fraud! Secret caches of pre-ban bottles! The modern absinthe revival! See you at BookPeople on Oct. 20!
