Originally it was supposed to be the picture for Christmas Eve. Instead, it's now for #NewYearsEve.

This may seem a bit random as the last picture for the #AdventChallenge, so let me elaborate: We have something bigger coming up. We're moving in about a week. From an airy little apartment to a proper house with enough space for husband and mouse AND a nice little garden. In view of this, it felt somewhere appropriate to draw a part of this garden as the last painting of the year. I decided on this little tin bird standing at the entrance to the garden. It's been one hell of a wild year and I'm sure next year won't be any less turbulent.....but I'm looking forward to it :) With that in mind, there's only one thing left to say at the end of this challenge: Happy New Year to you all!

The last few days have been pretty turbulent with the next darn bronchitis on top that I'm having to deal with, so unfortunately I'm only now finally getting around to uploading this :P #AdventChallenge #Underlust #Landscape #acrylic #art

Of course, all the doors have long since been opened, but that doesn't change the fact that there are still two pictures missing for the #AdventChallenge to be able to complete it... or to be more precise, one more now ;)
For the final doors, we now come to the actual classic #Arcyl tube color. Again, random selection and the choice is a bit more challenging here. Anyway, I didn't immediately know what I could paste on the paper in pale light pink and decided on a new #Underlust - this time for a #landscape #painting by Snowdin. I still have a lot of practicing to do with acrylics ^^;
At least on this size here I'm still struggling with details that wouldn't be a big issue with ink or watercolors. But well, experience only comes through trial and error, and hey, that's why I do these challenges at the end of the day :)

Here's a new brush that can generally be used to make more delicate strokes. Not the thinnest in my collection, but definitely the thinnest I've dared to use for acrylic paint so far. I felt the need to throw in something #DragonAge #AdventChallenge #PenStore #Acryl #Art

I think it's a bit more difficult with the Christmas theme - correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know there is no andrastequivalent to Christmas as we have it; at most maybe the #winter solstice is celebrated somehow - so I just went a bit more into the winter theme again. Well, the song is fittingly not a specific Christmas song ;)
So I started with #Wintersolstice instead - well, and the name is more or less already in there. That and somehow the song fits #Solas' person in my ears <)

So we continue with another acrylic pencil. As with the Aquarelle pens at the very beginning, the choice of color was probably pure chance. Well, I say lucky. A black pen that can paint over everything is of course always welcome 😎 And to add a little more #Undertale here, I tried my hand at doing a #Portrait of Jazzy with #Acrylic. It was also the first time I've done a portrait like this. It felt a bit strange to see the shadows completely without outlines and details, but I think I got the hang of it relatively quickly. I think I'll try it more often. Even the Copics can't create such rich colors! °O°

It's such a simple motif, but I really like the simplicity of it. I think it was also the best option to get the new acrylic pen in the foreground of the painting. It's really good that it was included since I have no idea where my yellow Posca has disappeared to XD

I've never done this on paper before, only on canvas and cardboard boxes, but I have to say I'm looking forward to it. I'm already impressed with what this paper can do. It doesn't even curl after drying! 😮
I'm still a bit clumsy when it comes to the intricate details - I still have some practicing to do these days ;) - but all in all, it's just a great medium that forgives you a lot because you can simply layer over the mistakes.
In keeping with the fact that it's just before Christmas, I want to make the acrylic paintings completely Christmas themed :)

This time I decided to put the pastel pencils on before I started on the outlines and shading with charcoal. To be fair, that worked a lot better. After having Carl in the Advent Challenge twice now, this time it's Leliana's turn as a motif, as her hair also went really well with the pastel tones - and because I was still missing Nightingales Eyes in the background music ;)
One of the best pieces from the soundtrack in my opinion <33

. I mean, I like the theory behind them. These pencils are supposed to work in a similar way to pastels. Soft color, easy to smudge and ideal for adding some color to pencil drawings. In practice, however, it was difficult to persuade them to paint at all. I suspect that it has something to do with where I've sketched and erased before. At one point I was desperate enough to dip the tip in water to save the drawing. That didn't have an accurate effect, but at least it had a strong color effect 🤷

For those of you who don't know my comics on DeviantArt, this is my take on the #JusticeSoul from #Undertale - or rather a version of #Underfell in this case ;)
But the #UndertaleAU rabbit hole goes pretty damn deep.

Of course, a portrait of someone with darker skin is a great way to bring that piece into focus. In other words, I finally have the excuse I've been waiting for to include #Dorian in this little portrait ensemble. I have to say, he's rarely done so well for me - and Dorian is one of those characters/people where my perfectionism is actually merciless. 😌
