So basically don't get sick in Alberta. Not only is it about to get more expensive as they expand privatization, your life will also be at risk due to the spread of preventable diseases. Lovely.

He doesn't really have much support outside Alberta, really. The bigger issue is are people mad enough about Trudeau that they'll either just not vote or vote for him.

I'm a Atheist White woman from Alberta with a bachelor's education, aged 45. Covid-19 is my top issue. I strongly support doctor-assisted end-of-life, I support ending corporate subsidies, I support more immigration, and I support more refugees. I voted Liberal in 2021.

Because I’m more excited than I should be, popping back over here to share that a photo series in Cowboy Country Canada with me, Braydon Morisseau, Craig Boehm, and Shannon Bileski (none of whom seem to be on BS yet) won GOLD at this year’s Alberta Magazine Publishers awards! Yay us!

This is also true in Alberta. But you do not need to be on the list of electors to vote the day you show up to your polling station. You do not need to do extra work or track whether or not you remain on the list prior to election day. Nor should you need to.

I feel so lucky to have spent the past two summers doing 2 big road trips: traveling and camping in the Canadian Rockies in '24 and Appalachia in '23. A significant portion of Jasper National Park burned 3 days after we left, and the devastation from #Helene is unfathomable.

Premee's yard would be filled with twitchers if that was a scrub jay. We're completely out of range, half-way up Alberta.

A map of the range of the western scrub jay
A pink "permanent resident" blob covers all of Baja California and coastal California, reaching into southern Oregon and washington, across Nevada and Utah and southern Idaho and southwest Wyoming, across most of Colorado and decent portions of New Mexico and Arizona with little forays into west Texas.

Spotty presence in northern Mexico and a prominent population in central Mexico. A few vagrant red dots cover the California deserts and northern Mexico as well as occurrence dots in Nebraska and BC.

Edmonton AB is too far north to be on this map.
A map of north america with the range of the California Scrub Jay imposed in purple and pale grey.
It runs up the western coast of North America from the southern tip of Baja California to Puget Sound in Washington.

It does not cross into Canada.
Alberta, the second province from the west is scrub jay free.
