Hey Gamedevs, how do y'all decide on an art style? I know staying within our scope and skill set is a good idea. I usually have a vague idea in my head, but getting it out of my head has always been nearly impossible (I may have minor aphantasia).

Took a lot of time to sort through. I have severe aphantasia and dissociation so reaching those central feels took time and sorting. The first thing I felt were hooves. It was emotional rather than imagery and it took me by surprise.

I was frustrated working in blender to make a world. And then I put my VR goggles on and got into it. I felt so happy even though it was such a basic little place, but I made it and it was my own. As someone with Aphantasia it was one of the first times I got to play in a world of my own making.

kissing you all on the forehead in my mind is quite a feat too since I have aphantasia

my dad does not remember dreams at all. he has pretty strong aphantasia, i wonder if that might be connected in his case. i remember images more than plots, like i can recall how the mountain and forest looked, but not what i was doing there.

5. He has aphantasia, but it mainly affects just his visual imagination. His auditory imagination is decent, whereas scents/smells and flavors are especially sharp.

I've found that since I can't visualize things in my head at all (aphantasia) and since I'm neurodivergent as fuck it's super hard to grasp where boxes/cylinders come into play, I have a better time pulling from what I see, so I've taken to daily hour long reference sketches for practice.

I believe I have aphantasia, which I bet has something to do with it. "the self" is extremely tangible in the head and is yet just a word + everything it's nearby in semantic phase space
