I always thought the quarantine was to protect the astronauts, but I just looked it up and NASA was worried the astronauts might bring back bacteria from the Moon. Imagine that? Some sort of pandemic breaking out. Creepy. I guess they stopped doing this after the first couple trips? #hatm

I wrote about the Lunar Landing Training Vehicle in my book as well. One priority for NASA was to train astronauts in actual flight environments that carried physical consequences, not only in simulators. Unfortunately, there were three LLTV accidents, not just this one. #HATM
