I live between DC and Baltimore and...pit beef mentality (I love pit beef) is completely different IMO from good Q mentality. I make brisket and baby back ribs that are considered by me and my neighbors to be better than (locally-started) Mission BBQ. But labor-of-love stuff is usually better.
