One interesting discovery with cleave - you don't get your STR bonus to the damage with it, but as a Raging barbarian with Great Weapon Master, he still got to add +5 to it (2 for raging, 3 from GWM) so it was still a pretty substantial hit on top of the base d12 for going greataxe.
