I'm reading "Style: The Basics of Clarity and Grace." Ch. 2 discusses nominalizing adjectives and verbs, e.g., "The nominalization of verbs in your writing is to be avoided," versus "Avoid nominalizing verbs in your writing." Note that "nominalizing" becomes a gerund, but "avoid" becomes a verb.
The basics of the system sound pretty clever to me. All the character have are trait sentences, use those to justify your actions, test when you might fail in a simple but neat way, gain new traits instead of "levels". Encourages word twisting to suit the action.
How do you like the garmin? I keep thinking about getting a (dumb) smart watch that can track HR and basics like that but I am always worried about the battery life and having to remember to charge it.

I love having a “disrupter” like him rethinking all the basics and “pivoting” early and often.
Pure dude making pure cookies. Learns lesson about burning something down to it's raw facts. Also doesn't know how to bake, which is unshocking. People conflate smarts with knowing literally everything when in fact at times these people are so hyperfocused on their subjects the basics fall thru.
