One for the Irish: how come Imbolc didn't survive as the word for February? Bealtaine - mí Bealtaine, Lúnasa - mí Lúnasa, Samhain - mí Samhain, but Imbolc - mí Feabhra?
margairín meidhreach na bealtaine?
Fraid I have to disagree with you. Summer = growing. Autumn = gathering. Hence the Celtic definitions of Bealtaine as the start of summer & Lúnasa as the start of Autumn. Willing to accept that seasons may be different in other locations due to climate and geography, but in Kerry summer 24 is done!
