It's September's newsletter! A brief tl;dr of Flights of Foundry, The Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy 2024 flailing, and a college update (pro tip: maybe don't take 5 classes at once). Also, this might be the last newsletter via Buttondown! Might switch to Beehiiv 💜
Hello! Welcome to V.M. Ayala's definitely on-time newsletter updates—hi yes, it Val, it me. It is, in fact, September 30 and not Oct 1 like the last...

Ooh, one last data point: a lot of users are reporting getting spammed by beehiiv accounts they never subscribed to (which can affect deliverability and filters for other newsletters on that platform) www.growmynewsletter.com/posts/3-unet...
Here's how shady operators are adding millions of newsletter subscribers without their consent
Thanks for asking this so I can piggy back off the answers to move forward with writing more! :-) Beehiiv and buttondown both look good at a glance.
If you’re willing to pay a small amount for delivery and like to tinker under the hood, I like Buttondown. Beehiiv is a little more service-y and has a good free tier. I can’t really recommend Ghost (a little overpriced and made too many decisions for me).
