Yes, they're only interested in the parts they get paid for — carbon capture, hydrogen, and biodiesel, even though those can't ever be more than a tiny part of what we actually need to do. Pretty much the definition of bad-faith engagement with climate action. www.wsj.com/business/ene...

Meet Curtis Yarvin, one of Blake Masters (running for US Senate in AZ) & JD Vance's intellectual heroes: a twisted, hollowed-out sociopath who suggested boiling poor people down into "biodiesel" to run buses, or imprisoning them in virtual reality. He's in favor of slavery & an absolute monarchy.

I am a car fan. I am not, however, a fan of gasoline (petrol) or diesel fuel. My point is that most of the environmental concerns around automobiles arise from their nearly obligate use of fossil fuels, not from automobiles themselves. Biodiesel is an option, and can be refined into lighter fuels.

Thing is Diesels are common in Europe. Fuel costs are high (£1.50 or more per litre, or 7.6$ per us Gallon), so there has long been an incentive to be economical. Arguably, a Biodiesel fuelled car is still very competitive with an EV for CO2, lifetime emissions. Not NOx though.
