"Broxbourne, this is Broxbourne, change here for trains to Hertford East.". My dad used to be the chief financial officer at the council until he retired mid 90s :)

I think I’m steamed in my own sweat. It’s 28C and I’ve walked 5.5 miles in it. Herewith pix. The Lea valley from Cheshunt to Broxbourne. #walking#hiking

Gravel trail through woodland.
Lake reflecting blue sky and white clouds.
Path through dense woods
Canal with a green bridge across it in the distance. A boat is moored on one bank.

It’s bloody humid today. I’ve earned this. The Crown at Broxbourne if you’re interested.

Pint glass of soda and lime outside on a pub table.

Waves from just down the road in Broxbourne. The Sunday morning ‘folk’ mass was excruciating. To be fair one of the driving forces left the Church to become a Baptist soon after leading our confirmation classes.

Despite being bound out of order, this copy has much to teach us. Today, it is one of 40-something copies that survive, mostly in European libraries. Most, but not all, are in modern bindings and show varying levels of engagement with this interesting milestone in the history of printing. 10/10

Rear pastedown, with the Broxbourne stamp and accession number, as well as an early modern inscription: "Aethiopick"

This copy returned to general commerce in 1923, when it was offered by G. Michelmore & Co., of London, after which it passed to Albert Ehrman, who added it to his Broxbourne Library in 1928. 9/10

The Michelmore description, identifying this as one of just 5 copies then known
