any song that has the vocalist screaming and crying by the end is gonna end up on one of my playlists. i’m thinking specifically of Return Trip by Electric Wizard and Useless by Buzzoven—both of those made it on the playlist i have for the dark fantasy story im workshopping

6. ACID BATH, hands down. i got to meet sammy duet at a goatwhore show last year and tell him how much i love his work. Go Hang, Buzzoven, the Violent Femmes, and Pist.on are some of my other favs atm, but nobody tops acid bath for me

need more bands like acid bath and buzzoven and pist.on to listen to, bc none of the sludge bands spotify recommends sound the same and they don’t scratch that itch. goatwhore is good bc they have sammy duet and the singers a cool guy, but they’re not pure sludge so it’s not the same

My guess would honestly be that there was just one Buzzoven (great band, btw—at least the one I know of—from NC) and they only listed the origination detail once. Can’t really imagine two bands in one week with that distinct of a name. My brain just wraps around that kinda stuff. Copy editor brain.
