For me the hardest part is remembering to water it correctly. Because it doesnāt want to sodden like my pitcher plants and it shouldnāt dry out like the cacti which means I have to like think about it
I first saw these in SE Arizona (tending barrel cacti extra-floral nectaries) that you helped me ID through photos. At first, I didn't even know I was looking an ant: its body and head shapes and movement (especially speed) was so different than any/most ants I've seen, too.

I bought two cacti recently and they have this issue with white fuzz around the thorns, as shown in the images. I have isolated this from the other plants just to make sure it doesn't spread (other plants are succulents and snake plant, not cacti). Water - sparingly once every 3-4 weeks. Sun - it is placed right in front of a (west-facing) window since I bought it. I am not sure what the issue is. One of the has considerably higher white fuzz than the other and I have separated them and have them far away from each other
I want to put tiny cowboy hats on my cacti
I've taken up gardening, and I really like it. It's been cheering me up and giving me something to look forward to every morning and when I get home from work. This is only one of them. I'm also working on some succulents and cacti. Will post when they sprout.
