1904/09/16: Literally *one* day later, Carmelo "La Llamarada" Castillo puts up a second 15-K regulation game for the 1904 🦜 #CotorrasRGE. Since 1901, exactly two pitchers have struck out 15 hitters in 9 innings, both have been in 1904, and best of all, they're teammates.

1904/09/15: Just over a week later, and with the Betances El Yunque division in the bag, Ezequiel Vásquez puts up another 15-K game for the 1904 🦜 #CotorrasRGE. He's at 376 K on the year—100 more than the runner-up. The man is 21. We're going to be seeing this for a long time.

What's particularly funny is that there have been four other 15-strikeout games in 1904, but only one was in the regulation nine. The pitcher for that one? Vásquez's 🦜 #CotorrasRGE teammate, Carmelo Castillo—"La Llamarada" ("The Blaze")—who is himself on pace for a 301-K season.

Luis García #1 (1871-79): 3rd-round pick of the #CotorrasRGE 🦜 during La Selección. He had exactly one career homer in 1,319 at-bats, 2.5 WAR in 461 games, and managed his best statline in 1878, when he was 37 and got only 21 PA. Granted, he was a pretty skilled defensive 1B, but: who cares?
