He's needing to knock some rust off. Look at some of the players after Coventry. The minutes they've gotten have been invaluable to get them closer to match sharpness. I know people knock him for his Chelsea reputation, and he's not a natural finisher, but he can still improve. He's a good backup.
Here is the late lamented Esbjörn Svensson and his trio in a beautiful, haunting piece with piano and double bass complementing each other superbly. He died in 2008 in a scuba diving accident, aged 44, not long after I saw him perform in Coventry. buff.ly/3zFCzaa

It was only Coventry, then it was only Brentford, then only Qarabag, only Manchester United & then it will only be Brighton. And then Spurs are knocking on top 4.
An advantage of playing so many benchers in the Coventry game(and getting away with it) was that some of those guys then had some match fitness & were better accustomed to playing together for the Europa league game the week after.
Now what gave you that idea... Should've had 2. One on one with the GK & did anyone expect him to score either time? Only poor performance, he didn't get carried along by the rest of the team, no excuse which there arguably was against Coventry.
Over the past 4 games, which have been across 3 separate competitions, our usage of the squad has been much better than last season. Admittedly too much rotation against Coventry almost, but today just underscored better utilisation of our players.
