The new, recent-ish Duck Sauce single ("Fallin' In Love" w/ A-Trak & Armand Van Helden) was my favorite groovy thing to listen to over the weekend. And then I find out that they did not learn from their NFT grift. Yes, they're into deepfakes now...hooray (...fuck me). 😒
And as text-to-image and video continue to improve, this problem is only going to get worse. Deepfakes will make it increasingly difficult for citizens to trust what they hear and see, weakening the integrity of democratic institutions and governance.
