I forgot how actually bad Gen 8 is and that it's not just because Dexit soured the game. IT'S BEEN FIVE SECONDS STOP HOLDING MY HAND HOP GO AWAY SONIA GO AWAY LET ME DO SHIT

I can understand why people were mad at Dexit, so many people worked hard on their pokedexes. and now it's like welp time to hack it all in lmao.

Hell, the official Youtube channel literally released a video celebrating the 1000 Pokemon milestone. Wouldn't that ALSO clash with the idea of Dexit? Just like *everything else* mentioned already? Zero creative decisions line up with Dexit being planned or permanent. youtu.be/pa08Y-fhfTI?...

Despite people's claims that delaying the games would fuck up everything else, most of the franchise continued like Dexit never happened, from the anime to spinoff games. Including the TCG, Creatures prints whatever mons they want, even if they're not available in the corresponding video game.

And with Pokemon Z-A we're likely to see the same thing again, with ancestors of various Kalos characters using the same Pokemon as the present-day descendants, as if they get passed down the way real players once wanted to. It's a very strange creative choice if Dexit is truly the new norm.

Now also consider: Pokemon Legends Arceus essentially canonized in-universe, the pre-Dexit fan concept of Pokemon being heirlooms passed down through generations of people, with the ancestor characters using the same mons as their present-day descendants. Wouldn't that be a weird reference to make?

If they do pull it off, the marketing pretty much writes itself honestly. But even if they don't, I think it's inevitable eventually. Despite what people claim, there are countless signs that Dexit was *not* the plan from the beginning of Gen 8's development.

It's very funny to me that some random company in Canada has these two ridiculous disambiguations on their wiki page

Dexit

For the social media controversy, see Pokémon Sword and Shield § Controversy.
For hypothesis that Denmark may leave the EU, see Danish withdrawal from the European Union.

Dexit was a publicly traded company in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It offered a rechargeable, contactless, stored-value smart key tag used for electronic payment in on-line or off-line systems locally in 2003, until it stopped operating in 2006. Dexit was rebranded in 2007
