#DiscographyDeepDive#MusicChallenge La Luz - News Of The Universe (2024) Shana went through a lot since the last release - motherhood, cancer, band lineup changes - so it's a miracle this even got made, let alone that it's a total banger.

#DiscographyDeepDive#MusicChallenge La Luz - La Luz - The Instrumentals (2022) Since one of the joys of La Luz is the lush vocal harmonies, the existence of this album confuses me. It's just all of their last album but with no voices. It feels like it lacks something, and it's clear what that is.

I've had a lot of fun covering Krallice and La Luz for #DiscographyDeepDive this month. I hope someone else starts their own, since you really do get a new perspective on your faves by ploughing into everything they've ever done.

#DiscographyDeepDive#MusicChallenge La Luz - Endless Afternoon (2022) A non-album single, the A-side of which was conceived by frontperson Shana Cleveland to be a sort of lullaby. It certainly has that cadence, and the ooo-waaah backups in the chorus don't hurt.

#DiscographyDeepDive#MusicChallenge La Luz - Live From A Black Hole (2021) I almost skipped this, since it's just a live album, but it does have an interesting shtick. Being a lockdown release, each band member had to record their parts alone, and pass the recording along to the next one.

#DiscographyDeepDive#MusicChallenge It's time for a La Luz Bank Holiday Monday Split Single Round-up Special! The band did a few splits and collabs, but they were mostly album tracks or versions thereof. Here follow a couple of unique tunes from those single releases.

#DiscographyDeepDive#MusicChallenge La Luz - La Luz (2021) The softest, swooniest Luz release to date. Heavy on the sweeping keys and lighter on the guitar, with vocal harmonies aplenty. Adrian Younge produces the album and also guests on a couple of tracks.
