That said, everyone calling it the best Dreamworks movie of all time needs to calm their asses down and rewatch How To Train Your Dragon

Thinking tonight how "The Bad Guys" and "The Wild Robot" are two Dreamworks animated films that were both really good movies - not just "good for a kid's movie" - and deviated from the house style and its reliance on franchises. Maybe someone at Disney should think about it, too.

Back from watching #TheWildRobot.🤖 I had a tear in my eye from start to finish; from smiling or crying? Who knows. Dreamworks went above & beyond. It was BEAUTIFUL. Every creature was full of LIFE. Every VA/character, especially Pedro/Fink, EXCELLED. Disney won't touch this Best Animated Feature.

Just saw The Wild Robot and it's is really fantastic. Probably the best film DreamWorks Animation has done. It's gorgeously animated, very funny, and has a tremendous amount of heart. Disney made a huge mistake when they let Chris Sanders get away.

The WIld Robot: just as much a meditation on the necessity of community as the plight of parenthood. Screenplay did a ton of good work introducing a lot of tough concepts without flinching. This also may be my favorite animation that Dreamworks has ever done.

[THE WILD ROBOT] Not since Into the Spider-Verse have I walked out of a movie proclaiming it as an instant classic. While it’s definitely a feast for the eyes and ears, its story is a wonderfully poignant balance of bitter and sweet. Easily one of Dreamworks’ top five best.

My 10-yo read the trilogy and we saw it on Friday. My verdict: possibly the best thing Dreamworks has ever done. Kid's verdict: "Definitely the best movie I've ever seen. Still not as good as the book."
