There’s quite a bit that can be done to improve the efficiency of motors and inverters. Each commutation costs a bit of energy, and minimizing that lost power (while staying within FCC limits on radiated EMF etc.) requires careful engineering.

BAD 2! According to wiki. I remember at the time, watching them at western springs, reminding myself that they were BAD, not EMF. It helped that they kept saying "we are Big Audio Dynamite BAD", so i suppose i wasn't the only one who needed reminding.
BAD (or, at least what was left with Mick Jones) did play New Zealand about that time, but I think it was EMF who supported U2? I could be wrong.
