Ealing Road, Brentford
Any film we watched w/ my late father at home. Nearly all B&Ws. His enthusiasm was infectious. ‘Destry Rides Again’, ‘Hobson’s Choice’, the Ealing comedies, anything w/ Alastair Sim etc.
Cocktails on a boat on the Regents Canal with friends from Dublin and Newcastle last night. Beers in a bottle shop in Putney with friends from Oslo (and, uh, Ealing). Oh, and 2 gym classes taught at Nuffield Islington... Ain't London the best place in the world?!
Bright autumnal skies in West London Park with lovely pretty trees. I just liked the light and I thought i'll snap a pic!
Ealing / Doncaster will definitely be an interesting test. The gap between Coventry and Bedford was a surprise - looking forward to seeing how Bedford look in Penzance in a couple of weeks.
Doncaster’s big spending not getting the result they would have expected, too much to hope that they will bounce back at Ealing next week? Chinnor putting in another good performance in defeat. Coventry outplayed Bedford and go next to Cambridge who got back on track with a good result at Caldy.
Spent yesterday evening at the extraordinary Sir John Soane Musuem in London. I have been meaning to go for 20 years (since getting married in his 'country house' in Ealing). It is the maddest place, and I will definitely be back, having just scratched the surface yesterday
There are beavers in Ealing! And Enfield. Also otters in the River Lea at Tottenham now. Change is happening, but slowly theealingbeaverproject.com
The Ealing Beaver Project - Bringing Beavers Back to London
Championship rugby round 2 scores Doncaster 14 30 Nottingham Hartpury 34 33 London Scottish Ampthill 31 29 Chinnor Caldy 21 26 Cambridge Coventry 45 7 Bedford Blues Early days but doesn’t look like last season’s 4-6th place are closing the gap… only Ealing and Coventry unbeaten after 2 games.
