Earlier, I had a refreshing walk across the commons where I was brought up. Canadian troops built this wall in 1943 to mimic Nazi anti-tank defences on the Northern French Atlantic coastline for training prior to the D-Day landings. Hankley Common, Elstead, Surrey.

Youtube oddly trying to push secrets of Peter Sellers videos on me. My Grandad used to see him walking around Elstead before he died. His description "He was yellah! Yellah! I've never seen anyone so yellah!". Wonder if thats one of the secrets.

The village of Elstead in Surrey (where i was born and raised) once had an Austrian restaurant where the owner made a magnificent take on the dish Königsberger Klopse that still sticks in the memory when i tried it 40 years ago. Today I'll mostly be attempting and buggering that recipe up.
