If the evap (charcoal) canister is in the engine bay, you could probably swap it out yourself in about 5 minutes... Just sayin'.

Dealership says the fuel EVAP canister got damaged, and is split open. For those on the EV train here is one more plus to ditching ICE.

I should probably provide a follow up but my car made the ~1400 mile round trip just fine, though it had an evap system leak code the entire time c: I tossed an evap purge solenoid out of a 2019 STI at it when I got home and it's ummm been fine since? I hope? No check engine light thus far 🤞

I did break a hard plastic evap hose though. Did a temp repair and ordered a new one that should be in here a few days. I love cars and working on them but I do not like working on engines and this was just removing an intake manifold and fuel rails etc. My back hurts now. 🙃

Update: I have exactly enough to replace EVAP cannister, brake fluid flush (it's full of air) and naught else. I'll return in 2 weeks or so for the intake hose, engine mounts and transmission mounts. Pls cont to 💧in it's building up! V3m0/💵app: Raantuva Paypal.me/Raantuva

The last thing pictured is a Magellan neck gaiter. If you have anything you do outdoors I highly recommend. Wicking, evap cooling, sun protection, wind protection. I have several.

I hate smog checks Some old evap or vac hoses just are not available so you have to use other lines to connect things or aftermarket parts don't fit Hopefully they don't get super picky

The quiche came out great. A sweet onion cooked in olive oil, a whole box of spinach cooked down, eight eggs, a can of evap milk, salt, pepper, etc. No crust. Sprayed ceramic pie pan with oil. Baked 35 minutes at 400. I meant to add boiled diced potatoes but forgot.
