As much as I do hate musk (a lot!!!!!), the FAA's treatment towards SpaceX /has/ been kinda ridiculous; they really aren't tooled to effectively regulate companies designed to do rapid prototyping, like SpaceX (this is a problem with the way FAA regulates, not that it does; regulations are importnt)

Four days before this happened the FAA published a notice reporting that several lights on the radio tower weren't working

Four killed after helicopter crashes into Houston radio tower

The FAA needs to ban those dry, salty snacks as a public health hazard.

Updated post with my sticker collections on my leverless controllers. Also, I got the art for the sanchan/faa leverless mod and put it together recently.

The FAA proposes increased inspections of 717s to address potential cracking of the wing skin associated with fuel leaks that could lead to structural failure. Boeing notified airlines of the inspection regiment in mid-September. public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2024-24443.pdf#AvGeek

The FAA has received a report indicating that, during investigation of a fuel leak,
a crack was found in the rear spar lower cap forward leg of the right wing. Subsequent
inspections revealed multiple cracks in the wing lower aft skin in the same general area
as the cracks found in the spar cap, including one approximately 7 inches in length that is
not capable of sustaining a limit load event. This condition, if not addressed, could lead to
reduced structural integrity of the airplane and loss of control of the airplane, which could
result in a catastrophic event. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition
on these products.
