I haven't played enough of the 3D one to judge, but what little I've played was pretty neat. If I'm going to play FF4, I'm going to play the PSP port on my PSTV since, unlike FFPR, they didn't cut anything out.
It's probably the hardest one for me to revisit in the FFPR bunch that isn't FF2. I kind of prefer FF4, even FF2 SNES, because it felt like more of a challenge. Yeah, I was one of those kids who felt insulted that FF5 didn't get released stateside because it was too hard.
