Our event is open to all prospective students but was created for URM applicants. Coming from a #FGLI background myself, I wanted to organize an event to give prospective students resources to apply to graduate school and an inside look at the admissions process. 2/4

smh Really telling on yourself. Many FGLI students have only ever seen styrofoam egg containers Paul, and then only from a distance, eg from the street through a plate glass window

Beautiful, moving, and heartbreaking story of FGLI student at Penn who took Phil of Education (not with me) and found the language to articulate her experience using Anthony Jack's work and mine. www.thedp.com/article/2024...

Enjoyed sharing my first results with my fellow colleagues and professors in a seminar at the University (UT MSI) Advice for FGLI students: presenting gets easier over time! What helped me was writing a script and going over it until I memorized it so well that I could also be myself when speaking

These schools were barely letting in any kids in with <1400 scores (and a disproportionate number of those were very non-FGLI athletes), and to describe how those lines converge after 1520 or so as “much more likely to be admitted” sure is a choice

Missing context: only about 15% of Dartmouth’s admits in its most recent test-required class had scores in the shaded box, 1400 or less. The admissions advantage for disadvantaged students narrows rapidly at higher scores
Dartmouth’s test-score distribution for enrolled students in the last testing-required class. 85% scored higher than 1400

Film Ferrania is about to make an announcement. I think you should wait for it, but if you’re curious, here’s what behind the curtain: www.analog.cafe/comments/fgli#believeInFilm
