An unused background of an alternate Minotaur statue in the Crete labyrinth in Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. This version of the statue is much more realistically carved, with a well-modeled, highly detailed human torso, rounded shoulders, a skirt around its loins, and legs that end in hooved feet. The bovine head has two tall, curving horns, and a much more realistic detailed face than the version used in-game. The statue is slightly to the left side of the background. On the ground slightly to the right of the statue, there is a round pit for the elevator going down. Above the pit is a wall panel decorated with inscriptions of some sort. To the right of the elevator is a large dark hole from which water flows down in trickles, where Indy exits from climbing the elevator chain below. There are exits at the left and right of the screen, but the right-hand exit is drawn so that the ground level doesn't match the rest of the screen and abruptly switches to a much higher level.

A screenshot of a very early build of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, showing an early version of the backstage of Sophia's theater in New York City. The stagehand's sprite is drawn in an early palette that looks very much like EGA, and has slightly different details like a green shirt. Indy's suit-wearing sprite is also EGA here, since it's a placeholder borrowed from the 16-color Last Crusade game. Plus, Sophia's temporary sprite is Elaine from Monkey Island 1 EGA, which might be one reason why her formal outfit in the final game has a purple shirt and black skirt, like the colors of Elaine's outfit. The Nur-Ab-Sal puppet has a temporary sprite of Chaos holding the Great Scythe from Loom. In the background, the slides for Sophia's lecture are not yet drawn, with a solid red placeholder background there instead. The GUI has nine green verbs on a solid black background, and a text inventory which includes a copy of "National Geographic" instead of "National Archaeology".
