Rosaceae, Rosa rugosa Thunb., Ramanas Rose, Japanese Rose, not a UK native but widely naturalised, especially on coasts and dunes (these are its habitat in its native regions; it is extremely tolerant of salt-laden spray). #FruitsChallenge#WildflowerHour

Plump globose crimson fruits on the Rugosa Rose, - rugosa means wrinkled, and refers to the leaf surface texture
