Meanwhile, COP29 is looking pretty for the 'centrist' EU nation-state's desire to <checks notes> find fossil fuel suppliers other than Russia.

I think it's time people who support Labour need to start owning the fact that their policies (winter fuel/two child cap, and upcoming disability benefit cuts) are going to kill the most vulnerable people. And that - that's a choice. They COULD tax the rich. They won't.

Man, there's so much damage in Florida. Spoke with my mom last night, they still don't have power in Tampa. She said so many trees fell down in their neighborhood. It's been stressful over here as well, it's still difficult to get fuel. In-laws and my brother both have power now, so that's good.

Yeah, it was a seriously unfortunate situation. An old fuel container from the cold war days had been buried near our underground water tanks. Seepage occurred. Fuel hydrocarbons appeared in our water supply. In the end, no one got sick, and we have a new water treatment facility now.

The less spacecraft you have to carry (landing gear, etc..) the more payload can be carried. Less fuel required for launch and landing = more payload.
