At a technical level I don't get it: 99% of people who are signing this would already be visible to a campaign because they are 1) registered already 2) willing to sign a political petition online. Normally, you might see this as a means to recruit hot leads for more grassroots donors.

A while back I had learned that the NOAA basically is the source of the weather data used by a vast majority if not the entirety of the weather apps in popular use today. Going to weather.gov isn't exactly a UI paradise...but it's nice to get it from the source.
