My most & contemporary least Confucian opinion is that, during the #Ghostfestival one should, yes, prepare non-fancy food for the pretas, but not so low quality meal: 1) the ghosts are supposed to be guests, even if potentially dangerous, and you shall honour your guests... 1/x
