Colour photograph of the colonnade outside the Thermae Palace Hotel on the Ostend seafront. Warm low (afternoon?) sunlight strikes the yellow pillars and the red wooden chairs. Checkered tiles on the ground in various patterns. The sea is visible between the columns, but so are the curtains in a window; it's difficult to distinguish between reality and its reflection (like real life, then); I'm guessing the photograph was taken from inside. Connoisseurs will know this hotel from its iconic appearance in Harry Kümel's vampire film, Daughters of Darkness (1971)
