Big infrastructure UK needed to fund and build a decade ago with a strong comms strategy about capacity not speed: HS2 in full to Manchester and Leeds, HS3 between them, Crossrail 2 in Central London out to Wimbledon/Tottenham. All existing routes now severely overcrowded, not just peak times.
