Yeah, reminds me of german rationalists who proposed secular explanations for miracle stories, while retaining major Christian doctrines I mean I'm kind of sympathetic at times, I trust that there's a lot of historical veracity in the Gospels but it's mixed in with tropes of contemporary hagiography
