It's not a storm.

It's just heavy rain.

(He’s a perpetual rain.)

One that keeps falling, and falling.

(He keeps seeping through his heart)

The realization hits him in the face as he accepts Alhaitham’s hand, and pretends to not notice that neither Alhaitham nor him have separated them, holding together the umbrella while walking closer because they don’t want to get wet. All his body is cold except his hand, blissfully covered by Alhaitham’s one.

He goes to the Grand Bazaar with a recipe in hand out from one of Alhaitham’s books in his extensive library, and looks for the spices lacking in their house for the dish. Their house, uh. It has a nice sound.

He crosses paths with Nilou, who waves at him as Alhaitham has already presented them both, and the ever so generous, gifts him some spare tickets for her night show. He promises he will tell Alhaitham to go, and while she returns to her practices, Kaveh finishes his shopping and heads towards home.

Home.

He shouldn’t use that word, should he?

Kaveh lets him guide again silently, smiling as he knows this is more like a dream, like a fairytale. And when the night falls he will have to leave the prince and return to where he belongs.

But the sun is still up, shining near the horizon already with red and purple hues of the incoming sunset. He still has time.

"Where are you taking me?" Kaveh asks.

Alhaitham doesn't need to reply. The streets, the aromas, the sounds are enough indicators. Many days they came to Port Ormos to observe the lighthouse and the sunset, the sound of the sea ever calming. He knows about the special place near the coastline, a solitary viewpoint that became their special place, the same where Alhaitham confessed that day and a first kiss was shared.

Alhaitham doesn't need to reply, yet he does once they're there.

"We can go wherever you want to"

And he's left there, under a black ceiling, trapped in a dark life where his only light is behind a crystal panel, shining over everyone's heads, his voice in everyone's ears.

Had he known they would end up this way, he would have accepted everything. He would have accepted those who tried to get over their heads and shine more than the sun himself. He would have accepted every petition of patience, he would have bitten his tongue until bleeding if he had known his words would shadow his light.

Now everything he has is a monotone, obscure life and the constant pursuit of the same words playing in his head with the sound of that beautiful yet broken voice.

He loves to compose.

The music comes to his hands like the rain falls from the clouds and reaches the ground. The melody, the rhythm and finally the chords which would reflect in paper, in the guitar, and embrace the whole empty space with music which will reach another person's ears and maybe even their hearts.

It's magical, the way he creates something that will be accompanied (or sometimes not) by lyrics and his voice singing while he plays the very same chords he spent so much time in as the perfectionist he is, for everything to be just like he likes.He loves to compose.

Yet since everything started, he has been unable to compose a single note.
