You will often hear you should service a mechanical watch every 3-5 years, or every 5-7 years. Many people even live by the idea that you should only service a watch when something breaks or is so far out of spec that it becomes annoying.

Tommy is uncommonly good at reading my body language/intentions and could also clearly hear that someone was coming up the stairs just as I could, and that I was listening to it, so I had to very briefly, semi-gently semi-grab her during the actual insertion event. But accomplished.
