Hillary Clinton was massively popular with Democratic voters, had a great approval rating heading into the primary, and it took the combined ratfucking operations of Republicans, Russia, Bernie, the press, and the FBI working all year to get to where she won the popular vote and barely lost the EC.
I think the campaign is doing the right thing to completely de-emphasize race and gender and let Trump to all the racist flailing. In contrast to the Hillary campaign which really doubled-down on the "first female" thing. How it ends? I have no better idea than anyone else.
