2/ Throughout the summer, thousands of students eschewed school and university to gather outside the government headquarters to protest a decision by Beijing to give Hongkongers the right to vote for their leader, but only from candidates approved by Beijing. Photos: Tom Grundy/HKFP.

Cantopop could prove that Hongkongers’ creativity is not okay. A lot of songs were from Japan.

Because I have so many Umbrella Movement photos and because I find that 10 years on, I can still look at them and be inspired (and without bitterness), here's sharing a few pics of the many Umbrella artworks that made me realise how talented and full of love for Hong Kong many Hongkongers are.

Art work of an angel holding a yellow umbrella over, and also hugging, the city.
Art work with the words "Even a on the worst days[,] there's still a possibility for Joy" on it along with people holding umbrellas (yellow but also blue, pink and red) and wearing clothing adorned with yellow ribbons to protect themselves from tear gas raining down on them.
Super detailed "Umbrella Revolution" illustration of various Hongkongers, scenes and items within an umbrella.
Tent on Harcourt Road, Admiralty, with cartoon illustrations of figures holding up umbrellas and also the city, and the words "I want universal suffrage" on it.
