the website? no, its using wordpress, which is free and open-source to install. i'm hosting it locally and share it from my server. the radio service i use is icecast, which is also free and open-sourced. the thing that costs money with websites is hosting, but you can find places for $1.50/month

da gibt's diverse Lösungen im lokale Musik per Sprache über Alexa zu spielen oder man kann leicht n privaten skill erstellen, der einen eigenen icecast-sever wiedergibt, darüber könnte man auch diverse externe Sachen wie Plattenspieler einschleifen über ein bisschen günstige Hardware

and that WCTR? It's a Music On Hold class. It's source? Icecast. The icecast stream? An internally generated stream. How's that done? Pre-encoded OGG files, ezstream, and a bash script.
Für mich war das um die Zeit ganz spannend, und das Wort UX kannte ich noch nicht. Die Öffentlichen Radios waren auch auf IRC - viel gemütlicher als eine app! Auch heute nutze ich den icecast links... Ich verdenkt pauschal Menschen die IRC verlassen von midlife crisis ;)
