Got this baby my freshman year in college along with an ImageWriter II dot matrix printer. First computer I had that used 3 1/2" floppies, not 5 1/4". It took a stack of, what, like 25 3 1/2" disks to load Microsoft Word? Remember that "Please insert disk 14 of 25" pop-up window?
Printing from a Newton MessagePad 2100 to an ImageWriter II via WiFi! Normally it only supports printing to LaserWriters or certain StyleWriter printers. But it’s been chained together with CUPS and netatalk in the background to make to work. 😀 #RetroComputing#VintageApple#VintageMac#Newton
I used to set a novel to print on the ImageWriter and then leave for a couple of hours and that was despite the sound dampening box I made to put over it.
Yep, someone dug out the ol Apple //e and an ImageWriter II and went for it.
It wasn't required. On the Epson the tractor feed mechanism came off, and then you could load individual sheets of paper to print on. ImageWriter II could also load individual sheets.
Didn't printers of that timeframe require the tractor feed? I remember at my elementary school they had the Apple ImageWriter II and it was the tractor feed type where after it was done you had to carefully tear off the perforations.
