whoever first put caraway in rye bread deserved to be immortalized. We should have made that person's birthday the start of the new year.

That's discounting the impact of his win. For example, the Greatest Generation is immortalized for defeating the Nazis. But not so much for watching fellow citizens into internment camps. Trump winning will sideline some historians and promote the revisionists.

This industry is such a cesspit

He enjoyed it for a decade: signing another deal in "the mid six figures" to write a revised book on 2008 that also went unwritten, appearing on Charlie Rose in 2011, and, in 2017, reporting for The New Yorker a profanity-laced phone call that immortalized Anthony Scaramucci - and got him fired as Trump's communications director 10 days after he took the job. Scaramucci thought the call was off the record. Lizza ran the story. His star was at its peak. (Scaramucci, who later described Lizza as "f---ing dead to me," declined to comment on Lizza's current situation.)
Five months later, however, The New Yorker fired him. At the height of the Me Too movement, a woman with whom he had a previous relationship accused him of sexual misconduct, which he denied. Thrown from a great height, he was offered a lifeline by Jay Fielden, then editor of Esquire. He had to meet with Hearst executives to assuage them first. He brought his new girlfriend-Olivia Nuzzi, at 25, 19 years his junior-to one meeting. She offered the air cover of a supportive politician's wife.

"A classic horror immortalized as a world-destroying, head-smashing, flesh-tearing, comet-surfing beast-turned-cowboy in a sci-fi apocalypse, served warm with artful soliloquy and a passion for pure awesomeness. Seriously great stuff.” -Rachel Allen Everett, creator of The Manderfield Devil

Which, well, for this portion in their lives, yes, they are happy. United as a team and as best friends, they do have each other. They've got a lot of stuff bottled up, but they've managed to work to such an extent that they do infinitely trust and understand one another.

Screencap from "In Stars and Time." The King asks, "You all managed to get this far!!! Don't you want to be immortalized right now? As winners?!"
Screencap from "In Stars and Time." Mira rejects it, saying they don't wanna be stuck in a "perfect moment."
Screencap from "In Stars and Time." The King asks if their lives will get more extraordinary than this.
Screencap from "In Stars and Time." The King then asks if they will get more powerful, more fulfilled than right now.

well that's annoying because now i think they're kind of a dick lmao cohost had the wild behavior that if someone blocked you, not only were their posts immortalized, but if you reblogged them and added your own post, you couldn't see /that/ either

Icarus got a raw deal. Imprisoned for his father's crime, then given an unsafe product with no warning labels. And then he's immortalized as an example of brash overreach‽
