I contributed to the progress of Artificial Intelligence, in hopes of winning a life of comfort, or at least a life free of VR agony. Sadly, Roko's Basilisk has read Terry Pratchett, and I was met in the digital afterlife by a circle of gods holding nasty-looking sticks.

Of course it is, just like making foreign dignitaries stay in his hotel. He thinks there is nothing wrong with 'monetizing' his political ambitions. Unfortunately we live in a country where 50% of the population hasn't the intelligence to understand how wrong it is.
