#FirstDraftFall My main guys. A romantic, thrill-seeking Cornish libertine called Kestrel, and a cynical runaway slave-turned mercenary called Scar.
I left the sheltered nooks and the trees being me today and focused on the two main Westray Headlands - Noup Head and Bow Head - open and barren! A handful of Wheatears and a single Redwing the only migrants plus Peregrine, a couple of Merlin and Kestrel. #WestrayBirding#UKbirding
Educational comparative #twoforone Fall migration can lead to a headache in Cooper’s and Sharped-shinned hawks ID Birding size is a comparison game knowing fully that male COHA and female SSHA overlap in size This is a good interspecies comparison for an early tip “SSHA are Kestrel sized COHAs”📷🪶
Happy #WorldAnimalDay! 🐾 QRT with your animal art!
Great white egret was a new patch tick at Ditton Brook today. Other highlights: sparrowhawk, kestrel, hobby & buzzard in the same small patch of sky; two yellowhammer, skylarks, grey wag, jays. RNPs at CLP were a (bad!) 1st. Lots of young pheasant 😡 #UKbirding@birderjack.bsky.social
For connoisseurs of the F-word, I would point out that Cotgrave is the first appearance in English of the word _fuckwind_, referring to the kestrel.
The foolish one and the responsible one. Although I haven't played Overwatch, somebody once compared Kestrel and Scar to Junkrat and Roadhog. If they were pirates and not as psychotic.
#WeeknightWriters Kestrel and Scar go on an adventure with an aristocratic couple who share a similar dynamic.
