#Manual#Lennus re-upload. Should be better sizes now, and better sizes moving forward. This game deserves it. Look at these beautiful illustrations.

Also, the more obscure the better, but don't sweat it if it's something that's kinda well known now, especially with Nintendo & co leaning so hard on re-publishing obscurities. Here are mine!

Metal Storm (Irem - NES - 1991)

A shooting platformer that has you controlling the M-308 gunner across a handful of really hard stages (and then again in ultra difficulty if you want the actual ending). What made this game ~*unique*~ is the Gravity Flip - pressing Up+A at any time flipped your mech completely around so it could walk on the ceiling. Ok yes they also did this in Mega Man 5 and Battle of Olympus but this game really rocked it all throughout, even incorporating it into boss battles.
Crystalis (SNK - NES - 1990)
Definitely not as obscure now that it's been published on the Switch TWICE, but either way this is in my Top 3 of all NES games, and I proselytize it frequently. It's a little obtuse sometimes but damn what a fun world to occupy and a cool story.
Paladin's Quest (Enix - SNES - 1993)
This one is among my favorite SNES RPGs, which is really saying something because SNES RPGs is my favorite genre! This one is more overlooked than its other counterparts both because it was obscure even back then (an Asmik RPG would have never made it over if Enix didn't have such a prolific US branch before closing its doors on Terranigma's fingers) but also it's never really seen any kind of "revival" in the way that some SNES obscurities have, whether through the Twitch community or just guerilla word-of-mouth campaigns. Even speedrunners barely touch it (shout-out to Dragonsdarch lol).

I love it though, soundtrack is fantastic, colors and aesthetics are fascinating, the alien races of Lennus are imaginative, and the difficulty is medium-high but definitely manageable.
Destination Earthstar (Acclaim - NES - 1990)
Basically Garry Kitchen's Battletank in Space, Garry actually decided while coding Battletank that he would have much rather made a space dogfight sim, so he did! My NES was still very new when I got this one and I spent hours on it, totally captured the imagination, even though the shmup sections on every other stage was brutally hard and I still can't beat them legit lol. Luckily some handy codes were programmed in to help so I have beaten this a few times now. This game is like 5 bucks everywhere so if you get a chance you should try it <3
